US Delegation to Return to Pakistan for Talks

US President Donald Trump has stated that United States representatives will return to Pakistan to continue negotiations related to ongoing tensions with Iran. Iranian authorities have not yet confirmed their participation in the proposed discussions.

In his remarks, President Trump warned that the United States could consider targeting Iranian infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, if a negotiated agreement is not reached.

The US president also said that reported gunfire directed at vessels in the Strait of Hormuz constitutes a violation of the existing ceasefire arrangement.

The Strait remains a critical global shipping route, particularly for energy supplies.

Iran has rejected the allegation, instead accusing the United States of violating the truce through its continued naval presence and blockade measures in the region.

Shipping activity in and around the Strait of Hormuz has again been disrupted following Iran’s reported resumption of its blockade.

Maritime tracking data indicates that vessel movement through the passage remained halted as of Sunday.

Meanwhile, Iran’s parliamentary speaker has indicated that some progress has been achieved in discussions with the United States.

However, he emphasized that significant differences remain, with both sides still “far” from reaching a comprehensive agreement.

The situation continues to evolve amid heightened tensions, with diplomatic efforts ongoing alongside competing claims over compliance with the ceasefire. Agency
