One Dead in Police Firing in Siraha, Another Injured

One protester was killed after police opened fire on demonstrators protesting against the curfew imposed in Golbazaar, Siraha, on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Ganesh Yadav, a resident of Tulsipur, Ward No. 2 of Aurahi Rural Municipality.

Another protester was injured in the incident and is receiving treatment.

The protest turned violent as demonstrators set bikes on fire and vandalized public houses. After escalating tension, a curfew is imposed from 2:00 PM today.

The demonstrations were organized to demand a fair and independent investigation into the recent incident in Sunsari.
