All-party Meeting in Saptari: Appeal to Social Harmony
An all-party meeting has been held in Saptari, appealing to everyone to maintain peace, social harmony and security. The meeting urged one and all not to spread hatred and provocation against other religious and communal faiths that disrupt social harmony.
The meeting was attended by political parties, chair and vice chairs of local governments, journalists, civil society, intellectuals and guardians. They univocally advocated for maintaining restraint to prevent untoward incidents.
The participants highlighted role of parents that they could provide message of peace, security, harmony and discipline to the children, according to Chief District Officer Shyam Krishna Shrestha.
The meeting also urged the school teachers and principals to take special initiatives at respective local levels to discourage rowdy activities considering the need of social unity. The use of children in protest must be prohibited, the participants agreed.
Those attending the meeting were for harmonious rallies and dialogues to maintain tolerance, unity and fraternity among diverse religious and ethnic groups. (RSS)
