New Zealand DPM Peters Calls on PM Oli

New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Winston Peters paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today.
During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, discussions focused on enhancing bilateral interests, mutual relations, and multilateral cooperation. Both leaders expressed a shared view on the vast potential for collaboration in agriculture, tourism, education, trade, and investment.

Prime Minister Oli informed Peters that Nepal’s current government prioritizes stability, development, good governance, social justice, and transformation, aligning with its national aspiration for a prosperous Nepal and a happy Nepali people. Deputy Prime Minister Peters emphasized the importance of strengthening Nepal’s development and prosperity while fostering international cooperation between the two nations.
Senior officials from Nepal’s Foreign Ministry were present at the meeting. The historical ties between Nepal and New Zealand were also underscored, particularly through the first successful ascent of Mount Everest on May 29, 1953, by Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay and New Zealand’s Sir Edmund Hillary.
