Madhesh Gradually Returns to Normal

Public movement and daily activities are gradually returning to normal in Madhesh province following the recent unrest in the region.

The province had remained tense since Thursday following the death of Ganesh Yadav in security firing in Golbazar, Siraha. The incident happened during a protest held over the incident connected with Kaptangunj in Sunsari.

Yadav died during a demonstration held here over the incident took place in Kaptangunj of Sunsari.

On Friday, Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and the victim’s family had reached to a written agreement, which helped ease tensions and gradually restore normalcy in the region. The curfew and prohibitory orders implemented by the local administration in some areas of Dhanusha, Siraha and Saptari have been withdrawn.

Traffic has resumed in such areas, and markets have also reopened. According to local Binod Shah, transport services have resumed, and life is gradually returning to normal.

Meanwhile, the respective district administration has urged the public not to believe in any misinformation and propaganda, urging them and all the bodies concerned to maintaining social harmony and unity. (RSS)
