Works to connect Janakpurdham and India’s Ayodhyadham via railway have been expedited.

Indian Railway officials have arrived at Kurtha railway station in Dhanusha on Thursday with a 17-coach train to inspect the security and technical conditions before starting the proposed Janakpurdham–Ayodhyadham train service.

The train with the registration number WDP-4 D 40370, along with Indian Railway officials, has arrived in Janakpurdham from Ayodhya.

Nepal Railway has stated that the train was brought for preliminary testing and inspection as part of preparations to start the proposed train service.

Paribesh Parajuli, the General Manager of Nepal Railway Company Limited, said that a train with 17 coaches has been brought in the first phase as per the plan to operate train services between Janakpurdham and Ayodhya.

He mentioned that the formal agreement between Nepal and India regarding the service launching date and other administrative matters is still pending.

Parajuli said that an on-site inspection is being conducted of the safety arrangements needed to operate the train service, the condition of the railway track, technical capacity, and other managerial aspects.

Indian railway officials will also discuss train operation, safety, and technical preparations with Nepalese railway officials.
