NOC Can Be Obtained from Home

Students planning to study abroad can now obtain a ‘No Objection Certificate (NOC)’ from home. The NOC branch, under the Ministry for Education, Science and Technology, in Sanothimi, has planned for a faceless NOC.
The agreement with TU and KU was signed on Friday. With this system in place, students can apply for the NOC online from home. After completing all required procedures, they will be able to print their NOC directly.
The Ministry stated that an agreement was signed with TU on Baisakh 4, while a similar agreement with KU had already been established.
With this, students can apply for an NOC online from home. Once the process is complete, they can print and use their certificates themselves, according to the Ministry.
Prior to the integration with both universities, applicants did not need to visit the office physically if their citizenship details were verified through the ‘Citizen Information Management System’ (CIMS) linked with the Ministry of Home Affairs, and if their NEB registration number and date of birth were verified through the system linked with the NEB.
However, for postgraduate or higher studies, applicants previously had to visit the office physically to verify university certificates as those systems were not integrated.
Due to integration with the Financial Comptroller General Office’s ‘Revenue Information Cashless Management System’ (RCMIS), NOC revenue is now collected entirely online.
According to the Ministry, approved NOC certificates can be downloaded paperlessly from the applicant’s profile. The certificates feature a QR code that can be verified using a QR scanner.
The NOC branch stated that following the integration with TU and KU, applicants for postgraduate or higher studies no longer need to visit the office physically, as certificate details can now be verified through the faceless system based on the registration number and date of birth provided in the application.
