Nepal FM Visits India for Bilateral Talks

Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shisir Khanal departed for New Delhi today for an official visit to India at the invitation of India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar.

During the visit, Khanal is scheduled to hold formal talks with his Indian counterpart, with discussions expected to focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in key sectors including trade, investment, connectivity, energy and people-to-people exchanges.

According to Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks will address matters of mutual interest aimed at further enhancing collaboration between the two neighboring countries, which share close historical, cultural and economic ties.

The visit comes as part of regular high-level exchanges between Kathmandu and New Delhi and is expected to reinforce the longstanding and multifaceted relationship between Nepal and India.

Khanal is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on 7 June.

Chairperson of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane is scheduled to return to Nepal this evening after completing his five day visit to India.
