Cabinet Meeting: PM Shah-led Delegation to Participate in 81st UNGA

A Nepali delegation led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah will participate in the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) from September 22 to 26.

A Cabinet meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, on Thursday, approved the visit of the Nepali delegation led by PM Shah, according to spokesperson of the government and Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel.

The meeting also took the decision to form a Nepali talk team that attends the meeting of Nepal-India Intergovernmental Sub-Committee to be organised in New Delhi, India.

The government granted permission in principle to formulate a Bill on loan sharking crime control. Upon the proposal of Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration, the Cabinet meeting decided to enlist 17,438 households of 27 local levels from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Saptari and Dang districts as poor.

The government spokesperson further shared that Dr Hari Prasad Lamsal from Bhaktapur was appointed as a chairperson of the Teacher Service Commission while Ram Sharan Sapkota from Makawanpur and Bishnu Ghimire Rimal its members.

Joint-secretary Binod Bahadur Kunwar has been promoted to the position of secretary (gazetted special class), with his posting as the chief secretary at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Lumbini Province.

Pokharel added that joint-secretary Uttar Kumar Khatri was promoted to the post of secretary. He is deputed as the chief secretary at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Sudurpaschim Province. (RSS)
