Over Rs 12.43 Billion in Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund

The Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund has a balance of over Rs 12.43 billion.

According to the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Minister, as of 9:00 am today, various nine bank accounts operated under Fund held deposits of over Rs Rs 9.14 billion.

Similarly, a total of US dollars 21,637,691 has been deposited in the Fund’s dollar accounts opened at two banks. The Office said that the combined balance amounts to Rs 12.433 billion.

According to the details, the Fund received Rs 172.57 million and US dollars 274,062 in the 24-hour period ending 9:00 am today.

Meanwhile, Rs one billion was recently released from the relief Fund through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority to provide humanitarian assistance to the people affected by the floods in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river systems on August 26. (RSS)
