Landslide, Flood Obstruct Major Highways, Road Sections in Seven Districts

Major highways and road sections have been affected in different places of the country due to the risk of landslide and flood following incessant rainfall. 

Publishing the details about condition of roads as of 9:30 am today, the Nepal Police shared that vehicular movement has been completely stopped on roads of seven districts while entry of vehicles are prohibited  in some roads in the night.

Operation of all types of vehicles have been stopped at Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi section of BP highway from 6:00 pm-4:00 am until further notice considering the possible risk of flood.  

Similarly, entry of vehicles is prohibited on the Kanti highway of Makawanpur from 5:00 pm-5:00 am until further notice due to rainfall. 

Mechi highway has been completely obstructed due to the muddy condition of the road at Ilam municipality-9 following rainfall, said police. 

Likewise, landslide has completely obstructed road at Bhotekoshi rural municipality-4 and Bhotekoshi rural municipality-2 of Araniko highway in Sindhupalchowk. 

Vehicular movement at Kaligandaki corridor at Jaimini rural municipality-8 in Baglung has come to a complete standstill due to landslide.

Lamabagar-Ramechhap road section at Tamakoshi rural municipality-5 of Dolakha has been completely blocked after Tamakoshi river encroached road as well as landslide occurred at Chhayanath Rara municipality-7 of Mugu has completely obstructed Nagma-Gamgadhi road section. (RSS)
