Foreign Minister Khanal Reaches in Antalya for COP-31

Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal has arrived in Antalya, Türkiye, leading Nepali delegation to the 31st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), or COP-31.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Khanal is scheduled to address the conference’s opening session on November 9 (Kartik 23).

The conference runs from November 9 to 20 (Kartik 23 to Mangsir 4).

He will also attend the leaders’ summit on November 11 and 12 (Kartik 25 and 26). During the conference, Khanal is set to join a high-level event titled “Advancing the Mountain Agenda: Glaciers, Cryosphere and Resilience Under Overshoot, Shared Responsibility and Sustainable Financing.”

Nepal, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Bhutan and Pakistan will jointly organize the event.

The ministry added that Khanal will take part in other high-level and side events and hold bilateral meetings with his counterpart and other distinguished guests. He is scheduled to return home on November 14 .
