Hearing Committee Calls for Complaints on Top Judge Nominee

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has called for complaints against Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, who has been recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

The decision was made at a meeting held on Wednesday at Singhadurbar.

According to the committee, complaints can be submitted from until May 18, after which the review and hearing process will begin.

Committee Chair Bodhanarayan Shrestha said complaints may be filed in writing to the committee office, through district administration offices or directly at the committee secretariat.

He added that submissions may be made with or without identification.

The move follows a recommendation by the Constitutional Council on Thursday to appoint Sharma as Chief Justice.
