Voting Continues to Elect RSP Leadership
The first round of voting in the ongoing first general convention of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is taking place smoothly.
The voting started last night to elect the party’s office-bearers. The RSP’s central election commission stated that the first round of the voting shall continue until 12:00 this afternoon.
It is said that more than 1,600 general convention representatives have already cast their voting rights so far.
According to the RSP election commission chief, Bhuwan KC, a total of 384 persons filed their candidacies for the post of the central committee members.
Among those filing candidacies, 210 are for the open category, while the assigned number is 64.

Similarly, 174 leaders have applied from the category of geography. Five central committee members will be picked from each province.
KC stated that 18 are from Sudurpachim Province, 20 from Madhes Province, 31 from Lumbini Province, 20 from Koshi Province, 31 from Karnali Province and 27 each from Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province.
The result will be declared within two hours of the completion of the first round of voting and the second round of voting will begin immediately after the result announcement. (RSS)
