Acting US Ambassador Boldin Pays a Courtesy Call on PM Shah

Acting U.S. Ambassador to Nepal, Megan Boldin, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Balendra Shah today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Shah expressed heartfelt gratitude for the solidarity and support extended by the U.S. government to Nepal during this difficult time of disaster.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister noted that the disaster had affected not only Nepali citizens but also foreign nationals.

He further stated that the incident was a consequence of climate change impacts. He emphasized the need to strengthen global cooperation and collective efforts to reduce climate-related disaster risks and address their impacts.

Likewise, while discussing Nepal’s unique tourism potential and opportunities for mutual benefit through the development of the tourism sector, the Prime Minister said that Nepal always welcomes American investment.

During the meeting, Acting Ambassador Boldin expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the floods in Rasuwa, extending condolences to the bereaved families and affected communities.

She stated that in this difficult hour, the U.S. government stands in solidarity with the Government of Nepal and the Nepali people, and is ready to provide necessary support and cooperation in relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts.
