ACC Premier Cup: Nepal Shows Brilliant Performance with Opener Asif’s Century
Nepal’s opener Asif Sheikh has completed a century against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the final match of the ACC Premier Cup One-Day International Tournament.
In the match underway at the Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, he completed his century with 8 fours and 4 sixes off 103 balls.
This is Asif’s second century in One Day Internationals. With his brilliant batting, Nepal is performing excellently today.
Put to bat after winning the toss, Nepal scored 185 runs for the loss of two wickets in 34 overs. Nepal gave a chance to Arjun Kumal and Sandeep Jora in the final keeping Dev Khanal and Sher Malla in the spare.
This is Jora’s first opportunity in the ongoing tournament. The team that wins today’s match will qualify for the Asia Cup next year.
Both Nepal and UAE are aiming to win the ACC Premier Cup title for the second time. Nepal were the winners in 2023 and UAE in 2024.
So far in One Day International cricket, Nepal and UAE have faced each other in 19 matches, with Nepal winning 11 and UAE winning 8. (RSS)
