Kami Rita Sherpa Breaks Everest Record with 32nd Summit

Kami Rita Sherpa, a popular Nepali climber, set a new record by reaching the summit of Mount Everest for the 32nd time on Sunday, breaking his own world record once again.
Officials said he reached the summit at 10:12 a.m. local time while leading an international climbing team.
Kami Rita, now 56 years old, was born in Thame village in Solukhumbu district. He first climbed Everest in 1994 when he was 24 years old. Since then, he has climbed Everest almost every year as a Sherpa guide, helping climbers safely reach the summit.
Another Nepali climber, Lhakpa Sherpa, also reached the top of Everest on Sunday for the 11th time.
Officials said more than 70 climbers were trying to reach the summit the same day.
