First NA Meeting Post Gen-Z Movement

For the first time after the September 8-9 Gen-Z movement in Nepal, the meeting of the upper house of the Federal Parliament convened today.
This is the 19th Session of the National Assembly (NA).
As the parliament building located at the International Conference Centre in New Baneshwor was vandalized and set ablaze during the Gen-Z uprising, the meeting convened at the Federal Parliament Secretariat in Singha Durbar.
In preparation of the session, NA Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal had convened a meeting of the Rules Committee on Friday.

In the first meeting of the session, Chairperson Dahal read out the letter of convening the session from the President.
The meeting unanimously endorsed a condolence motion on the demise if Nepali Congress lawmaker Baldev Bohara.
The first meeting lasted for about seven minutes.
Meanwhile, the EC has also stepped up its preparation for the election of 19 National Assembly members scheduled for January 25.
As preparations for the House of Representatives election are underway and new members are about to be elected to the National Assembly, the session beginning today is viewed with significance.
