Auger-Aliassime Set for Paris Masters Final Showdown with Sinner
Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime will play for one of the biggest titles of his career on Sunday after booking his place in the Paris Masters final with a 7-6(3), 6-4 win over Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik.
The 25-year-old Montreal native continued his strong indoor form with a composed and confident performance in Saturday’s semifinal.
After edging out a tight opening set in a tiebreak, Aliassime staged an impressive comeback in the second set, overturning a 1-4 deficit by winning five straight games to clinch the victory in one hour and 36 minutes.
The result sends Aliassime into his second career Masters 1000 final and strengthens his bid to qualify for the ATP Finals in Turin, moving him into the crucial eighth and final qualifying spot.
Aliassime will now face Italy’s Jannik Sinner in Sunday’s championship match.
Sinner advanced after defeating Germany’s Alexander Zverev in the other semifinal.
Currently ranked world No. 10, Auger-Aliassime has already captured three ATP titles this season.
He is now one victory away from securing the most significant crown of his career.
