Nepal Teams Up with TikTok Travel Creators to Promote Tourism Globally

Nine international travel content creators are exploring Nepal’s natural landscapes, cultural heritage and tourism destinations as part of a digital campaign to showcase the country to audiences worldwide.

Brought to Nepal through a collaboration between the Nepal Tourism Board and TikTok, the creators from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South Asia are producing short-form videos and livestreams to share their travel experiences with global audiences.

They are in Nepal from October 30 to November 7, visiting various destinations and highlighting the country’s Himalayan landscapes, trekking routes, wildlife, biodiversity, festivals and living cultural traditions.

Their content also features major attractions such as Lumbini and the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Kathmandu Valley, alongside lesser-known destinations.

The initiative aims to use TikTok’s global reach to introduce Nepal to potential international travellers and bring greater visibility to destinations beyond the country’s established tourist hotspots.

Information and Communications Minister Dr Bikram Timilsina, speaking at the campaign launch, said short videos on TikTok could encourage international audiences to visit Nepal.

He also highlighted the platform’s potential to promote the country’s natural and cultural diversity and support technology transfer.

TikTok has introduced a dedicated ‘Visit Nepal’ hashtag page to increase the visibility of tourism-related content and audience engagement.

Through its collaboration feature, the Nepal Tourism Board is also working with Nepali celebrities and local content creators to present the country’s attractions from local perspectives.

The campaign includes livestreams from popular tourist destinations, allowing viewers around the world to experience Nepal virtually and discover places they may wish to visit in the future.

The #VisitNepal campaign is scheduled to continue until the end of 2026.
