Advance Bus Ticket Booking Opens Across Nepal Ahead of Festival Season

Advance ticket booking for long- and short-distance buses has opened across Nepal, drawing crowds of passengers to ticket counters at the New Bus Park in Kathmandu.

Passengers have queued to secure tickets for travel during the upcoming festival season.

Punya Prasad Sitaula, president of the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs, confirmed that advance bookings are available for public buses operating on routes across the country.

Meanwhile, police have stepped up security at New Bus Park and other areas to prevent potential incidents during the festive rush.

Shankar Shrestha, chief of the New Bus Park Police Sector, said plainclothes officers have also been deployed as part of the security measures.

The decision to open advance bookings was made on Tuesday following discussions involving transport authorities, police, transport entrepreneurs and workers to manage increased travel demand during the festivals.
