Rescue Team Recovers Body from Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydropower Tunnel

A rescue team led by the Nepali Army has recovered the body of one person who was trapped inside a tunnel at the flood-affected Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydropower Project in Nuwakot.

Local resident Shesh Nath Bhattarai, who is at the Simle area where search and rescue operations are ongoing, said a specialized team comprising foreign experts had retrieved the body from inside the tunnel.

According to Bhattarai, the rescue team was encouraged after successfully rescuing two employees of the hydropower project alive this morning.

Personnel from the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police, along with Chinese and American experts, are involved in the ongoing search and rescue operation.

Meanwhile, relief efforts have been intensified in flood-affected areas of Rasuwa.

Although the weather remains cloudy and conditions have not fully cleared, helicopters are being used to distribute food and other essential supplies, according to Rasuwa Assistant Chief District Officer Dhruva Prasad Adhikari.

Authorities continue to prioritize search, rescue and relief operations in the flood-hit areas.
