Experts Team at Work to Find Trishuli-III Tunnel’s Intake

The authorities have been making unrelenting efforts for the rescue of those trapped inside the tunnel of Trishuli-III Hydropower Project following the devastating Bhotekoshi flash flood.

The excavator, drilling machines, hydraulic cutter and other equipments are used by the joint squad of the Nepali Army, the Armed Police Force and the Nepal Police, which also include related experts.

They are trying to find the intake (entry point) of the hydropower tunnel, according to Nepali Army Public Relations and Information Directorate.

The joint squad has given continuity to rescue the trapped people for two days. However, the operation was halted last night for some time due to rainfall causing floods in the Bhotekoshi River.

As the water level receded, the rescue works resumed. There are 93 members including technical specialists in the team. In the flood-struck districts, over 8,400 security persons have been mobilized in utmost coordination.

Meanwhile, the Nepali Army airlifted 183 persons including four Chinese nationals from Timure, Dhunche and Hakubensi till 11:00am today. (RSS)
