South Korean Ambassador Park Pays Farwell Call on Foreign Minister Khanal

South Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park Tae‑yong paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal at Singhadurbar today.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, Minister Khanal emphasized the need to strengthen connectivity between Nepal and South Korea.

He noted that trade, health, and education should be prioritized in the bilateral relationship. He remarked, “We must identify various sectors for investment. At present, we are focused on energy and production. Now we must also give attention to other areas.”

He further stressed the importance of cooperation between research institutions in the field of education. Minister Khanal highlighted that South Korea’s Employment Permit System (EPS) program has become a model of bilateral relations, adding that EPS has had a positive impact on people‑to‑people ties between Nepal and South Korea.

Ambassador Park, who is completing his three‑year tenure and preparing to return home, was praised by Minister Khanal for his service in Nepal.

Ambassador Park expressed that wherever he goes, he will never forget Nepal, and he also admired Nepal’s cultural diversity.
