Weather Advisory: Heavy Rain Likely in Parts of Bagmati, Gandaki & Madhes Provinces

The ongoing monsoon season continues to impact the country, with a low-pressure system.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has indicated that widespread cloud cover will persist across the country, leading to moderate rain and snowfall in the Himalayan regions, as well as light to moderate rainfall in hilly areas and some plains.

Notably, the Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Madhes Provinces are expected to experience moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, with the potential for heavy rainfall in select areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

The weather bulletin of the department, highlights the likelihood of very heavy rain in certain hilly areas of Gandaki and Bagmati provinces.

As the night approaches, conditions are forecasted to remain cloudy. The department has also warned of the possibility of moderate rain and snowfall in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, as well as in parts of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Given the risk of flash floods, landslides, and soil erosion, authorities have urged vigilance in areas prone to heavy rainfall.

The adverse weather conditions may disrupt daily life, agriculture, health services, tourism, and transportation, prompting the department to advise the public to stay informed about the latest weather updates. (RSS)
