HoR Endorses a Proposal, Seeking Consideration on ‘Nepal Special Service Act’ by Majority

The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting approved a proposal, seeking consideration on a ‘Bill (2083) relating to then provisions of Nepal Special Service Act, 2042’ by a majority of votes.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, tabled the proposal on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah in the HoR meeting today.
HoR Members Buddhi Prasad Panta, Bidushi Rana, Renuka Kaucha, Yagyamani Neupane, Narendra Kumar Kerung, KP Khanal, Samiksha Baskota, Prakash Chandra Pariyar, Bikram Thapa, Srishti Bhattarai, Khushbu Oli, Lima Adhikari Acharya and Kamal Subedi underscored the need to bolster the intelligence agencies, arguing that accurate information is imperative for national security.
Ganesh Bahadur Bishwakarma, Nishcal Rai, Krishnahari Budhathoki, Bharat Prasad Parajuli, Sulav Kharel, Manish Khanal, Parbati BK, Chandra Mohan Yadav, Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, Balawati Sharma, Nirasa Chaudhary (Dagoura), Premlal Chaudhary, Janak Singh Dhami, Thakur Singh Tharu, Prashant Upreti, Ganesh Karki, Sajita Khatun Siddiki, Mohan Lal Acharya, Shahjan Khatun, Radhika Ramtel, Som Sharma, Ganga Lakshmi Awal and Aryan Rai also took part in the discussion.
In response to their queries during the discussion, Minister Gautam said, “Earlier, the National Investigation Department was under the Ministry of Home Affairs, which is now brought under the Prime Minister’s Office, which helps ensure availability of entire information for smooth security; and it is under Head of Cabinet.”
