Traffic Disrupted on Various Highways

Incessant rainfall has disrupted road connectivity in several parts of Nepal, with river erosion and landslides blocking major highways and transport corridors.
According to Nepal Police Headquarters, traffic has been disrupted along the Prithvi Highway at Galaudi in Gajuri Rural Municipality-5 of Dhading district after the Trishuli River eroded part of the road.
Traffic has also been completely halted along the Kaligandaki Corridor at Rakse in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-2 of Gulmi district. A landslide has blocked a road section at Takurchhe in Bagmati Rural Municipality-3 of Lalitpur district.
Meanwhile, the BP Highway has been completely blocked by a landslide and debris at Pinthalibesi in Roshi Rural Municipality-9 of Kavrepalanchok district.
Robin Bista, information officer at the District Police Office, said efforts are underway to clear the debris and restore traffic along the BP Highway. However, continuous rainfall has hampered the clearance work.
Police have urged travellers to check road conditions before setting out and use alternative routes where necessary, warning that additional blockages may occur along other sections of the highway.
