Significant Increment in Government Revenue Collection: Financial Comptroller General

The government’s revenue in the first month of the current fiscal year 2083-84 BS (2026-27) increased significantly.

According to the Financial Comptroller General Office, the government’s income in the given period exceeded Rs 93.43 billion, which is around 10 per cent or Rs 8.24 billion more than that of the corresponding month last fiscal year.

The tax revenue amounted to Rs 85.19 billion, while it is Rs 7.3 billion towards the non-tax revenue.

Similarly, the government during the first month (mid-July to mid-August), received foreign grant assistance of Rs 240.3 million.

The government in the current fiscal year has set a target of securing an income of Rs 1642 billion.

The expenditures in Saun (mid-July to mid-August), the first month of the current fiscal year, amounted to Rs 41.88 billion.

The government had allocated a total budget of Rs 2124.34 billion for the current fiscal year. The spending in the month of Saun is 1.97 percent of the total allocations.

Under the current expenditure heading, the spending as of the end of Saun (August 16) stood at 1.68 percent or Rs 21.40 billion.

Similarly, under capital expenditure, the spending is Rs 0.31 percent of the total allocations of Rs 431.01 billion.

Under the fiscal management, the total spending is Rs 19.15 billion which accounted for 4.53 percent of the total annual allocation. (RSS)
