RSP Wins 34 of Declared Seats in HoR Election

Vote counting is ongoing for the House of Representatives election held on Thursday, March 5.
So far, the results from 45 constituencies have been made public.
In the ongoing count, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured victory in 34 constituencies and is currently leading in 79 constituencies, according to the latest results.
According to the Election Commission, Sagar Bhusal of RSP has been elected from Parbat.
In Bhaktapur Constituency No. 1, RSP’s Rukesh Ranjit defeated Nepal Workers and Peasants Party Secretary Prem Suwal by 5,289 votes.
Other RSP winners include Rabi Lamichhane from Chitwan-2, Santosh Rajbanshi from Morang-4, Rubina Acharya from Morang-6, Manisha Jha from Dhanusha-3, Ranju Neupane from Kathmandu-1, Rajunath Pandey from Kathmandu-3, Pukar Bam from Kathmandu-4, Sasmit Pokharel from Kathmandu-5, Ganesh Parajuli from Kathmandu-7, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha from Kathmandu-8, Dol Prasad Aryal from Kathmandu-9, Pradeep Bista from Kathmandu-10, Uttam Prasad Poudel from Kaski-2, Bina Gurung from Kaski-3, Kanhaiya Baniya from Rupandehi-4, and Suresh Kumar Chauri from Banke-1.
Under the first-past-the-post electoral system, vote counting is underway in 160 constituencies out of a total of 165.
The Nepali Congress has won four constituencies so far: Tek Bahadur Gurung from Manang-1, Yogesh Gauchan Thakali from Mustang-1, Santosh Subba from Terhathum-1, and Basana Thapa from Dailekh-1.
Congress candidates have so far won in 6 and leading in 10 constituencies.
From the Nepali Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal has won from Rukum East-1 and Mahendra Bahadur Shahi from Kalikot.
Candidates from the party are leading in 7 constituencies.
From the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), Mohammad Ishtiyaq Rai has won from Banke-1 and Ain Bahadur Mahara from Bajhang-1, while UML candidates are leading in 7 constituencies.
Meanwhile, former Minister for Education, Science and Technology Dr. Mahabir Pun has been elected from Myagdi as an independent candidate.
Candidates from the Shram Sanskriti Party are leading in four constituencies, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party in one constituency, and an independent candidate is also leading in one constituency.
Vote counting is underway.
