Rasuwa Floods: WHO Sending Relief Supplies to Floods Survivors

The World Health Organization (WHO) is preparing to send essential health and relief supplies to victims of the flood that struck the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa this morning.

According to the Ministry of Health, following discussions with Minister of Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta, WHO will dispatch basic medicines and medical equipment sufficient for 1,000 people, along with 15 emergency tents of 24 square meters each to the affected areas.

The ministry also stated that 100 emergency beds have been allocated at Bir Hospital and the Trauma Center in Kathmandu for flood victims. So far, three injured individuals have already been rescued and brought to Kathmandu.

In addition, coordination is underway with Federal Hospital in Kathmandu, the Blood Transfusion Center, the Health Ministries of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, the Nepal Red Cross, Lions Club, and Nepal Scouts to provide emergency health services.
