Nepali Delegation off to Pakistan for SA Games 2027 Preparatory Meeting

A delegation from the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) and the National Sports Council (NSC) left for Islamabad, Pakistan, on Friday to participate in the Central Committee meeting of the South Asian Olympic Council.

The meeting is being held in preparation for the 14th South Asian Games (SAG) 2027, which Pakistan will host.

NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha, NOC Vice President Chaturananda Rajvaidya, and NSC member Sikka Suwal Shrestha will represent Nepal at the meeting scheduled for August 23–24.

During the session, discussions will focus on preparations and key issues related to the successful organization of SAG 2027.

NOC President Shrestha and Vice President Rajvaidya, along with NSC member Shrestha, will represent the Government of Nepal.

The South Asian Games, the region’s largest sporting event, have not been held since Nepal hosted the 13th edition in 2019 across Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Janakpur.

The first SAG was organized in Nepal in 1984.
