Beni-Jomsom Route Reopens, Cargo Containers Starts Departing for Destinations
With traffic resuming along the Beni-Jomsom route in Mustang, 173 containers have headed towards destinations. The containers carrying goods imported from China have already left for Pokhara, Kathmandu and other city areas.
According to District Police Office’s police inspector and information officer, Sanotosh Basyal, containers arrived here via Korala border point have started moving out of Mustang following the reopening of the obstructed Beni-Jomsom road.
Such containers have got stuck here for the past two weeks due to the roadway disruption. The route reopened in the evening of October 9. On the first day, 85 cargo containers moved out of Mustang followed by 88 on the second day after the road resumption.
According to the police post based at Ghasa of Thasang-4 along the border between Myagdi and Mustang, 391 vehicles left Mustang in two days since the transport resumed. Today, more than 50 vehicles have departed from Mustang. Meanwhile, supplies of apples produced in Mustang have begun, said Chimle Apple Farming proprietor Karma Gurung. (RSS)
