Nepal Face USA in Crucial ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 Match

Nepal and the United States are currently facing off in an important ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 match at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu.

The match is Nepal’s second game of the ongoing tri-nation series involving Scotland and the USA.

After winning the toss, the United States elected to bat first, with Nepal opening the game in the field.

This is Nepal’s first meeting with the USA in the current home series and their second overall match of the tournament.

Nepal narrowly lost their opening game against Scotland by just two runs, while the USA have also suffered a defeat against Scotland earlier in the series.

In the League 2 standings, Scotland lead the table with 38 points from 30 matches.

The USA are second with 36 points from 25 matches, while Nepal sit near the bottom with 18 points from 25 games.

Historically, the USA have held the upper hand over Nepal in recent encounters.

Of the last five matches between the two sides, the USA have won four, with Nepal’s only victory coming in June 2023 by six wickets.

Today’s match is seen as a key opportunity for Nepal not only to strengthen their position in League 2 but also to end their recent losing streak against the United States.
