Nepal Elects to Bat First Against Oman in the Crucial CWC League II Fixture

Nepal has opted to bat first in the last match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 competition against host Oman.
The match at the Al Amrat Cricket Ground in Oman is a must win fixture for Nepal to retain the ODI status by finishing in the top six of the points table.
Should Nepal emerge victorious against Oman, the team will secure a position within the top six of League-2, thereby preserving its one-day international status directly.
Conversely, if Nepal fails to achieve victory, the nation will be required to participate in the World Cup Qualifier Playoffs to maintain its ODI standing.
Following a 24-run defeat to Canada in the preceding match of the series, Nepal descended to seventh position in the standings.
Given that Nepal’s net run rate surpasses that of sixth-ranked Canada, there exists a possibility that even if the match were to be abandoned and Nepal were awarded one point, the team would advance to the top six.
Nepal will take the field with a primary objective of securing victory. In the second match of the series, Nepal had previously defeated Oman by a margin of 113 runs.
The Nepali team is now determined to replicate this success against Oman through outstanding performance on Monday.
Historically, Nepal and Oman have contested 12 one-day international matches, with each nation claiming six victories.
Throughout the last three encounters, Nepal has maintained a winning record against Oman.
