Former Nepal Football Chief Arrested Over Alleged Fraud

Nepal Police has arrested former All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Karma Tsering Sherpa on allegations of fraud and criminal breach of trust.
A team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) detained Sherpa in Kathmandu on Friday evening as part of an investigation into the alleged embezzlement of 87.8 million Nepali rupees (about $640,000) from Tungaram International Academy, a private school in the Hattigauda area of the capital.
According to CIB spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police Anup Shumsher JB Rana, investigators allege that Sherpa misappropriated school funds and caused financial losses while serving as the institution’s executive head.
Police said the investigation is ongoing. Sherpa has not publicly responded to the allegations. (RSS)
