Nepal in UNGA: Foreign Minister Khanal Meets EU Vice-President Ribera

Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal has met European Union Executive Vice-President Teresa Ribera in New York, USA today.

Minister Khanal, who is currently in New York to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, held bilateral talks with the EU Executive Vice-President on the sideline of the event, according to the Minister Khanal Secretariat.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on various dimensions of Nepal-EU relations. Minister Khanal expressed gratitude to Vice-President Ribera for her message of sympathy and solidarity with Nepal following the August 26’s Bhotekoshi flood.

On the occasion, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation and partnership between Nepal and EU, informed Minister Khanal’s Secretariat.

They particularly paid attention to further bolstering collaboration in the recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction of areas and those affected by the devastating Bhotekoshi flood induced by the impacts of climate change. (RSS)
