FIFA World CUP: Brazil & Morocco Confirm Knockout Berth, Canada & Switzerland Also Advance

Brazil and Morocco have secured their places in the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with victories, while Haiti was eliminated after suffering its third consecutive defeat.

In the final Group C matches on Thursday morning, Brazil defeated Scotland 3–0 and Morocco beat Haiti 4–2, ensuring their spots in the last 32.

At Miami Football Stadium, Brazil’s win over Scotland made them group winners with 7 points. Morocco also finished with 7 points but ranked second based on head-to-head results.

For Brazil, Vinícius Júnior scored twice and Matheus Cunha added one goal.

Vinícius opened the scoring in the 7th minute and doubled the lead in first-half injury time. Cunha sealed the 3–0 victory with a goal in the 60th minute.

Meanwhile, in Atlanta, Morocco overcame Haiti 4–2. Despite trailing twice in the first half, Morocco fought back.

An own goal in the 10th minute put them behind, but Achraf Hakimi equalized in the 39th minute.

Four minutes later, Haiti’s Wilson Isidor restored the lead, making it 2–1. In first-half injury time, Ismaël Saibari leveled the score at 2–2.

In the second half, Sofiane Rahimi scored in the 78th minute to give Morocco the lead, and Yassine Guesimi added another in the 89th minute to secure the 4–2 win.

With this victory, Morocco advanced to the knockout stage, while Haiti exited in the group phase.

In Group B, Switzerland and co-host Canada also booked their places in the last 32, while Qatar was eliminated.

Although Canada lost 2–1 to Switzerland on Thursday morning, they advanced on goal difference ahead of Bosnia & Herzegovina.

At Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium, Switzerland’s win made them group winners, while Canada finished second despite the defeat.

Both Canada and Bosnia & Herzegovina had 4 points, but Canada progressed due to superior goal difference.

In another match, Bosnia & Herzegovina defeated Qatar 3–1.

With two consecutive losses, Qatar was eliminated. Bosnia & Herzegovina, with 1 win and 1 draw from 3 matches, collected 4 points and still has a chance to reach the last 32 as one of the best third-placed teams.
