ACC Premier League Cricket: Nepal Clinch Seven-wicket Win over Bahrain

In today’s match of the ACC Premier Cup cricket tournament, Nepal defeated Bahrain, making a great start in the competition.

Nepal secured a win by defeating Bahrain by seven wickets in the match held in Bangi, Malaysia. Chasing a modest target of 88 runs set by Bahrain, Nepal reached the target in 21 overs, losing three wickets.

For Nepal, Arjun Kumal contributed an unbeaten 36 runs. He scored 36 runs off 58 balls, hitting five fours. Similarly, Rohit Kumar Paudel added an unbeaten 19 and Asif Sheikh scored 18 runs. Dev Khanal made 10 runs.

Towards bowling, Imran Javed Anwar took three wickets for Bahrain.

Before that, Bahrain, having lost the toss and invited to bat first, was bowled out for 87 runs in 36.2 overs. For Bahrain, Fiaz Ahmed scored the highest with 15 runs off 15 balls. Similarly, Muhammad Wasim added 13 runs. Other than that, no other player was able to score double-digit runs.

In the process of bundling Bahrain out for 87 runs, Sandeep Lamichhane from Nepal took five wickets. Similarly, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi took three wickets and Karan KC two wickets. Nepal will play their second match against Malaysia on September 3. (RSS)
