Nepal Marks 41 Years of TV Broadcast

Nepal Television (NTV), Nepal’s first and pioneer television broadcaster has entered its 42nd year of broadcasting.
Established on Magh 17, 2041 BS (January 30, 1985) NTV has evolved over the decades by adopting new technologies and broadcasting practices.
Recently transformed from a state-owned broadcaster into a Public Service Broadcaster, NTV has reiterated its commitment to national interest, public accountability and citizen-focused service.
Currently, NTV operates six channels, including the newly launched English-language channel NTV World expanding its global reach.
Through its news and programs, NTV has played a crucial role in public awareness during natural disasters and political transitions, while promoting Nepal’s cultural, linguistic and social diversity.
An anniversary celebration is being held this afternoon at the NTV premises with Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav attending as the chief guest.
