Modi, Putin Promote Expanded Trade and Investment Opportunities

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the India–Russia Business Forum, underscoring the strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

Speaking at the forum, Prime Minister Modi announced that Discussions on an FTA between India and the Eurasian Economic Union have begun. He noted that whether in business or diplomacy, mutual trust forms the foundation of every strong partnership.

Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted the trading partnership between the two nations, noting a record increase of up to 80 percent in this field.

Putin said there are vast opportunities to further expand bilateral trade and investment.

President Putin also praised India’s economy as one of the fastest-growing in the world, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sound economic policies and landmark initiatives, including the ‘Make in India’ program. (AVN/DDI)
