Russia’s Ambassador to Nepal, Alexi, Calls on Minister Pokharel

Russia’s ambassador to Nepal, Alexi Vladimirovich Surovtsev, today paid a courtesy call on Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel. In the meeting held at the Singha Durbar-based Ministry of Education and Sports, the two exchanged views on Nepal-Russia bilateral relations and mutual interests, according to the Minister’s Secretariat.

Discussions were also held on the enhancement of mutual cooperation in education, sports, human resources development and other areas of mutual concern, it is said. On the occasion, Minister Pokharel who also serves as the government’s Spokesperson thanked the Government of Russia for its support and contribution to the human resource development in Nepal.

He utilized the time to call for further expanding Nepal-Russia collaboration in the areas of education and sports. The ambassador said that Russia is interested in investing in Nepal’s education and sports sectors.

He was of the opinion further exploring new areas of collaboration in these areas and further strengthening bilateral relations. (RSS)
