Apples Picking Festival in Mustang Draws Visitors

An apple picking festival is underway since Sunday at the Marpha-based Temperate Horticulture Development Center, at Gharpojhang rural municipality-2 in Mustang. The festival will run till October 1.

According to Centre’s Chief Prakash Pantha, the festival offers visitors an opportunity to harvest and enjoy a juicy and sweaty taste of fresh apples. Mustang, the district known as beyond the Himalaya is famous of apple production in the country.

According to the organiser, the event has attracted a good number of visitors. The district has now entered the main harvesting season for applies, with farmers harvesting fruits and supplying produce to the market.

The entry fee to the festival is Rs 200 per person. Visitors are prohibited from damaging or tearing branches from the plants, and anyone found doing so will be fined Rs 1,000. The centre, established in 2033 BS, produces and sells supplies fruits, vegetables, and other crops. (RSS)
