Asian Games: Nepali Women’s Team Secures Win in Kabaddi

Nepal has won against Thailand in the women’s kabaddi game in the 20th Asian Games ongoing in Nagoya, Japan. In the first match held today at Tokai Citizen Gymnasium in Japan, Nepal defeated Thailand 46–43 to secure the win.

In the first half of the game, Nepal was trailing Thailand 24–15. However, in the second half, they improved and secured the game against Thailand with a 31–19 score. With that, Nepal managed to win overall against Thailand with a total score of 46–43.

While the expected results in the Asian Games have not been coming from the hoped-for sports, the win in women’s kabaddi is considered very important for Nepal. In the previous 19th edition of the Asian Games also, the women’s kabaddi team had brought a bronze medal for Nepal.

Nepal is placed in Group B in the ongoing Asian Games. Along with Nepal, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Chinese Taipei are included in this group. In the league stage, Nepal will now play against Sri Lanka and Chinese Taipei. Similarly, in Group A, there are Iran, India, Bangladesh, and Japan. The top two teams from each group will reach the semifinals. (RSS)
