PM Shah and His Australian Counterpart Hold Telephonic Conversation

Prime Minister Balendra Shah and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese had a telephonic conversation this morning.

During the telephone conversation, Prime Minister Shah remarked on the importance of communicating with his Australian counterpart while Nepal is going through a difficult situation, according to Deepa Dahal, the Press and Research expert to the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Shah expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by the Australian government and its citizens regarding the loss of life, property, and physical infrastructure caused by the massive flood in the Bhotekoshi river in Rasuwa on August 26.

He also commended the assistance provided by Australia for rescue and relief operations during this disaster in Nepal. In particular, he expressed gratitude for Australia sending a team of drone operators—including specialists—and essential relief supplies, as well as for providing financial aid.

Prime Minister Shah stated during the telephone talks that the search operation for Australian citizens missing due to floods in Nepal is being intensified. Noting the long-standing, close relationship between Nepal and Australia, he affirmed that Nepal would continue to coordinate and collaborate with Australia on search, rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts during this time of disaster.

During the conversation, Australian Prime Minister Albanese expressed concern regarding the difficulties Nepal is facing due to the disaster. (RSS)
