Rasuwa Floods: PM Shah Consults With Lawmakers of Affected Areas

Prime Minister Balendra Shah has consulted with federal lawmakers from flood-affected areas regarding the situation caused by the flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

At a meeting held today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, discussions were focused on the damage caused by the flood, the condition of settlements in coastal areas, and ongoing rescue and relief efforts.

Lawmakers from Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan drew the Prime Minister’s attention to the impacts in their respective constituencies and the urgent steps needed for rescue and relief.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Shah convened a meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management to receive high-level updates on the latest situation in flood-affected areas, as well as progress in rescue, search, and relief operations.

During the consultation with lawmakers, Prime Minister Shah emphasized that the government is fully committed to the safety and relief of affected citizens.

He informed them that clear instructions have already been issued to subordinate agencies to adopt heightened vigilance in lower coastal regions and to immediately relocate displaced people to safe areas.

The government has mobilized security forces in flood-hit regions to intensify search and rescue operations.
