Nepal Suffers Super Over Defeat Against the UAE in ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup Semifinal
Nepal suffered super-over defeat against the UAE in the semifinal of the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup.
Nepal chasing a modest target of 101 runs, was bowled out for exactly 100 runs in 20 overs, forcing the game into a Super Over.
Batting first in the Super Over, Nepal managed only 6 runs in 5 balls, losing two wickets.
The UAE chased down the 7‑run target in just 3 balls, with captain Samaira Dharnidhar hitting a boundary off Riya Sharma’s bowling, followed by 2 runs and a single to seal victory.

Earlier, Nepal’s chase started poorly, collapsing to 50 for 5 in 13.2 overs.
Opener Sabitri fell for 8, captain Soni Pakhrin for 3, Sana Praveen for 17, Anjila Pathak for 6, and Karuna Bisht for 4.
Anu Kadayat and Alisa Kumari Yadav steadied the innings with a 33‑run stand for the sixth wicket, but wickets kept tumbling.
Anu scored 20, while Alisa was run out for 17 in the final over. Nepal needed 7 runs off the last over but managed only 6, losing two wickets in the process.
For the UAE, Vaishnavi Mahesh took 3 wickets, while Sahil Nikhil Thite claimed 2.
Batting first after winning the toss at Malaysia’s Bayumas Oval Stadium, the UAE was bowled out for 100 in 19.5 overs. They too had a shaky start, losing 3 wickets for 17 runs.
Mehul Pranav Kulkarni top‑scored with 30, Lavanya Kenny added 25, and Neha Kumari remained unbeaten on 19. No other batter reached double figures.

Nepal’s bowlers dominated: Riya Sharma took 3 wickets for just 8 runs in 3.5 overs, Anu Kadayat picked up 3 for 22, Trishna Bishwakarma claimed 2, and Manisha Upadhyay added 1.
Nepal had reached the semifinal unbeaten, topping its group and defeating Japan by 9 wickets in the quarterfinal. The team had already secured qualification for the U‑19 Asia Cup.
