HoR Session: Govt. Urged to Amend Mental Health Policy, Implement Health Insurance

Lawmakers have drawn government’s attention for its priority to amend mental health policy, implement health insurance programme in well-equipped hospitals and ‘digital’ service delivery.

During ‘urgency hour’ of today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, KP Khanal of the Rastriya Swatantra Party stressed that ruling and opposition parties should stand together to amend mental health related policy to resolve problems related to mental health including self-immolation, depression.

Similarly, Raj Kishor Mahato of the same party asked the government to implement health insurance programme in country’s largest and well-equipped hospitals.

Purna Prasad Limbu of Shram Sanskriti Party and Ringala Yadav of CPN (UML) urged the government to immediately resolve the problems surfaced in central server of the Department of Transport management.

Likewise, Niscal Rai of the Nepali Congress drew the attention of bodies concerned to immediately carry out repair and maintenance of the dilapidated roads of Ilam while Belawati Sharma of the Nepali Communist Party asked the administration to search Mina Karki, 45, of Gulmi, who went missing in course of crossing Resha rivulet.

Dhanendra Karki and Som Sharma of RSP requested the government to keep state mechanism standby to immediately provide relief and rehabilitation to the disaster-hit people.

Similarly, Rajendra Kumar Rai of the CPN (UML) urged the government to address the demands of employees of contract and temporary basis. (RSS)
