Weather Likely to Improve From the Evening

Nepal’s Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast improved weather conditions from Friday evening as the rain and snowfall continue across the country due to the impact of Cyclone “Midhili”.

Due to the Cyclone that developed in the Bay of Bengal and a low-pressure system, most parts of the country have experienced rain and cloudy conditions.

However, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the weather will gradually improve starting this evening.

Currently, most provinces in the country are likely to experience rain and snowfall.

Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces will remain fully overcast, while the remaining provinces are expected to be generally cloudy.

According to the department, moderate rainfall is expected this afternoon in many areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Additionally, light rain is likely in some hilly and Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy rainfall is possible in a few areas of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, and in one or two locations of Lumbini province.

Similarly, moderate snowfall is expected in many high-hill and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Some locations in these provinces may also experience heavy snowfall.

The department has urged the general public, farmers, travelers, and drivers in areas forecasted for heavy rain and snowfall to exercise necessary caution.
