Voters Must Carry One Original ID from Five Approved Documents to Vote Today

The Election Commission of Nepal has clarified that voters can cast their ballots in the House of Representatives election today by presenting a voter ID card or any one of five alternative documents.

According to the commission, voters who do not have their voter ID card may still vote by showing the original copy of a Nepali Citizenship Certificate, driving license, National Identity Card, or passport.

If these documents are not available, voters will also be allowed to vote by presenting the original copy of a land ownership certificate.

Voting is taking place at across 10,967 polling stations of the country

There are 18,903,689 eligible voters in today’s election.
