UML Finalises 16 Names for PR Seats

The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) has selected 16 names for the proportional representation (PR) system for the House of Representatives.

A meeting held today at the residence of party chairman K. P. Sharma Oli in Gundu finalized the list of 16 candidates.

Party leaders informed after the meeting that the election results were also reviewed during the discussion.

The Election Commission of Nepal had given political parties a three-day deadline to recommend the names of candidates to be nominated under the proportional representation system of the House of Representatives election.

The party, which won 9 seats under the direct (first-past-the-post) system, has secured 16 seats under the proportional representation system.
